We love the Autumn, because Thanksgiving and all it’s flavors are so close, and one of our favorite wines to drink with November foods is Syrah. We think that with it’s spice, black fruit flavors and softer tannins make everything from turkey, to wild rice, to sweet potato casserole (with marshmallows, of course!), to cranberry sauce taste even more...well, delicious. We co-fermented our hillside Syrah with 2% Viognier from our valley floor, and this is apparent in the perfume-like aromatics. Hints of lilacs, wild blackberry and star anise float out of the glass. The wine teases with notes of blackberry pie, black licorice and a hint of espresso bean and has a beautiful vibrancy and moderate tannins. Drink now though 2020.
